India’s retail inflation has eased to 3.54 per cent year-on-year in July, marking a significant drop from the previous month’s 5.08 per cent, ccording to government data released on Monday (August 12).
This is the first time in nearly five years that the inflation rate has dipped below the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) medium-term target of 4 per cent.
