Swarrnim University Promotes Menstrual Hygiene

Gandhinagar: The Prasuti Tantra Evum Stree Roga (PTSR) Department of Aarihant Ayurvedic Medical College & Research Institute, affiliated with Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University, recently conducted an awareness programme on menstrual hygiene. The event, held at the Girls School at Moti Adraj village of Kalol taluka in Gandhinagar district, was aimed at educating young girls about the importance of menstrual hygiene, reducing health risks, and breaking societal taboos.

Led by Dr Naveen Banarse, Principal of the institute, and coordinated by Dr Priyanka Chaudhary, Consultant and Assistant Professor in the PTSR Department, the programme engaged 50 students from Class 6-8. The session began with a traditional Dhantwantari Vandana, followed by a lecture on menstrual hygiene by Dr Chaudhary along with Dr Vaishali Lalwani and students.

The initiative was aimed at the spreading and raising awareness among adolescent girls about managing menstrual hygiene. Students were also educated about using eco-friendly menstrual products.
