Mumbai Airport Customs Seize Hydroponic Marijuana Worth ₹63 Crore In 11 Smuggling Cases In 2 Months; Arrest 11 People

Mumbai: In the past two months, Mumbai Airport Customs seized hydroponic marijuana worth nearly Rs 63 crore in 11 smuggling cases and arrested 11 people. The drugs were all smuggled from Bangkok. In October, Customs seized marijuana worth Rs 25.66 crore in seven cases, arresting seven persons.

In November, four persons were arrested with Rs 37.29 crore marijuana. On November 8, they seized drugs worth Rs 14.90 crore from passengers arriving from Bangkok. On November 24, another seizure worth Rs 22.39 crore was made. Hydroponic weed is highly sought after in high-society circles, said a source.
