Mumbai: 21-Year-Old Killed After Being Hit By Local Train While Distracted On Phone

A 21-year-old man was killed after being struck by a local train at Mulund railway station on Saturday morning. Jayesh Shelke, a resident of Bhandup (West), was standing at the edge of Platform 4 when the incident occurred. According to sources, Shelke was distracted by his phone and failed to notice the approaching train.

Despite the motorman sounding the horn, he remained unaware of the danger. Other passengers attempted to pull him back, but the train struck him, causing fatal injuries.

Passersby rushed him to Agarwal Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival The Kurla railway police have registered an accidental death report.

A police officer stated, “We reviewed the CCTV, which revealed that he was standing at the edge of the platform. He lost his attention and was hit by the train, leading to his death.”
