Fans were delighted to see Virat Kohli as the star batter stepped on the field with his training gear to prepare for the second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval. In a video shared on social media, a fan was heard screaming ‘Oye Kohli aa gaya’ as soon as they spotted the 36-year-old on the field.
The Delhi-born cricketer roared back to form in the series-opener against Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth as he scored an unbeaten hundred in the second innings. Although Kohli got out cheaply in the first innings on day one, the veteran did not get bogged down and took full leverage when the conditions eased out on day three at the venue. With the right-hander averaging over 60 in Adelaide, it is ominous signs for Australia.

“He knows his cricket better than anyone else” – Jasprit Bumrah on Virat Kohli
After the opening Test, stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah stated that Kohli doesn’t need as much as they need the former Indian skipper. The right-arm speedster observed that he was switched on and reaped the results of the same in the game. As quoted by ESPN Cricinfo, Bumrah stated:
“I have said this before, Virat Kohli doesn’t need us, we need him. He is an experienced player. This is his fourth or fifth tour. So he knows his cricket better than anyone else. He looked in good shape, he was mentally switched on. Sometimes when you have such a long career, you bat in tough conditions and he has batted in tough scenarios for a long time, but it’s difficult to do that all the time in every match.”
