Wagholi Police on Tuesday found a three-year-old boy who had gone missing from the area within four hours. After a woman informed the police that the missing boy had been found, the police team searched for his parents and safely handed the boy over to them.
Manisha Chetan Sonar spotted the three-year-old boy near Nikhar Ladies Shop on Baif Road in Wagholi. She searched for anyone who was with him, but when she couldn’t locate his parents, she immediately informed police personnel from Unit 6 of the Crime Branch, Pratiksha Pansare and Sachin Pawar. They promptly notified Senior Police Inspector Wahid Pathan.
Operation Muskan, which is being implemented to search for missing women and children, was quickly activated. The police shared the information, along with the boy’s photograph, on social media. A search operation was conducted across Domkhel Road, Baif Road, societies in the Datta Vihar area, and laborers’ colonies.
The police later received information that a three-year-old boy had gone missing from Akshay Sanskriti Society. A police team reached the society, showed the photograph of the child to the residents, and the boy’s mother immediately recognized him. She broke down in tears upon realizing her child had been found safe and thanked the police for their quick action in locating and returning her son.
Senior Police Inspector Wahid Pathan, Assistant Police Inspector Madan Kamble, Sub-Inspector Ramkrishna Dalvi, Ramesh Memane, Balasaheb Sakte, Suhas Tambekar, Kanifnath Karkhele, and Kirti Mandale were involved in this successful operation.
