Chunky Panday Reveals Monkey In Aankhen Was Paid More Than Him & Govinda: ‘Flew With 6 Assistants, Given Hotel Room In Mumbai’

Actor Chunky Panday recently appeared in the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, alongside Govinda and Shakti Kapoor. During the episode, he revealed that he and Govinda were not paid for their work in David Dhawan’s Aankhen, which was released in 1993.

Shakti, who was also part of the movie, said, “We did this film together, where these two were the heroes. Actually, no, there were three heroes. Govinda, Chunky, and a monkey. Ask them.” Further, Chunky then quipped that the monkey was paid more “handsomely” than them.

Govinda added, “We didn’t get paid.” Shakti also revealed that monkey was also given a room at the Sun-n-Sand hotel in Mumbai. “Whenever David would call for the monkey, Chunky would show up. Whenever he called for Chunky, the monkey would show up,” Kapoor joked.

Earlier, speaking to Hindustan Times, Chunky shared that it was an ‘expensive’ monkey from down south and used to fly with 6 assistants.

“I was told that everyone except you have a double role in the film and I said it was not fair. So, I was given a monkey (laughs). That monkey was paid more than me and Govinda. He was a big star who would stay at hotel Sun and Sand. Crazy things used to happen to the set because of this fellow, but he was equally loved by everyone,” the actor shared.

On the work front, Chunky is currently filming for Housefull 5. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Johnny Lever, Nikitin Dheer, Ranjeet, Jacqueline Fernandez, Chitrangda Singh, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma and Sonam Bajwa, among others.

Housefull 5 is set to release in 2025.
