About The Incident

The incident was reported at the Metro Rail site near Hotel Amar Palace located adjacent to the highway in Kashimira at around 10 pm. According to the police, the driver was reversing the truck to unload the ready-mix concrete between the two pillars when a huge portion of the road suddenly caved-in.

The driver who was crushed under the truck died on the spot owing to multiple injuries. His body was sent for an autopsy to the civil hospital in Bhayandar. Three cranes were deployed by the fire brigade personnel to pull out the truck from the pit.

“We have registered an offence under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 125 (endangering life or personal safety of others) against the site engineer of the contractual agency which had been hired by the company J.
