Indore: Labourer Stoned To Death Near NTC Ground; Second Murder In 24 Hours Spurs Police Probe

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 30-year-old man was stoned to death by unidentified individuals, and his body was found near NTC Ground under Pardeshipura police station limits on Friday morning. This was the second murder within 24 hours in the city.

Earlier, a 19-year-old boy was stabbed to death by three including a minor following a quarrel with a DJ during a marriage procession on Wednesday night in Tejaji Nagar area.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Kamlesh, a native of Khandwa, who worked as a labourer. Pardeshipura police station in-charge Pankaj Dwivedi said that the police received information around 6:30 am that a man’s body was found on a road near NTC Ground, with blood oozing from his head and a blood-stained stone lying nearby.

Preliminary investigations revealed that he was attacked by unidentified individuals with a stone to the back of his head. The absence of CCTV footage near the spot has made it challenging for the police to identify the accused. Initially, the deceased could not be identified, but based on his appearance, the police came to know that he belonged to the lower class.

They circulated his photographs from door-to-door in nearby colonies, where a woman identified him as her brother. She informed police that Kamlesh used to live with her in Malviya Nagar but, due to his alcohol addiction, she had asked him to leave her house about a month ago. The police registered a murder case against unidentified individuals under relevant sections of the BNS and launched a probe to gather information about the accused and reason behind the murder.
