Sports Academy’s Badminton Player Gauranshi Sharma Wins Silver In Asia-Pacific Deaf Games
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Sports Academy’s badminton player Gauranshi Sharma secured a silver in the 10th Asia-Pacific Deaf Games. The games are being held in Malaysia from December 1 to December 8. In the mixed team event, Gauranshi alongside Shreya Singla, faced Kazakhstan’s Alzhan Akhmolonova and Ayazhan Zhumabek.
The duo defeated their opponents 21-11, 21-10 in a match that lasted 20 minutes. Their efforts contributed significantly to India’s victory, as the six-member Indian team beat Kazakhstan 5-0. India is currently in fifth place with a total of 45 medals, including 7 gold, 16 silver and 22 bronze. Korea leads the table, followed by Iran and China.
Vinod Singh wins gold
The 39th National Junior Athletics Championship is being held from December 7 to December 11 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. In the competition, athletes from Sports Academy won two medals. Vinod Singh clinched gold in men’s 10k metre race in 29:43.39 seconds. Sonam Parmar bagged silver in the women’s 5k metre race in 17:25.79 seconds.
Actor Govind Namdev To Be Felicitated
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Trikarshi Natya Sanstha is going to organise a three-day drama festival and felicitation ceremony in memory of senior theatre actor and director late K G Trivedi ‘KG Chacha’ at Ravindra Bhawan in the city from December 10.
Film actor and theatre artiste Govind Namdev will be honoured on the first day of the event. He will be given a memento along with Rs. 51k. Besides, theatre artiste and light designer Anoop Joshi ‘Bunty’ and music director Surendra Wankhede will also be honoured.
A play ‘Bhookh Aag Hai,’ directed by KG Trivedi will be staged on the inaugural day. A solo drama ‘Rashmirathi’ directed by Hariodh and ‘Majnu Launcment’ directed by Kuldeep Kunal will be staged on December 11 and 12 respectively.
