The exhibition featured an impressive array of over 500 models and 1,000 drawings, representing the innovative and socially conscious projects of SEDA’s students. These works explore diverse themes, including: Cutting-edge solutions for public spaces and community design, Sustainable and modern interpretations of traditional practices, Designing for sensory experiences in urban retail environments and Construction technology, visual communication, and architectural detailing.
This semester, a special emphasis has been placed on design detailing and creating precise drawings that are easily communicable to construction sites. Speaking about this focus, Prof. Pratyush Shankar, Dean of SEDA, remarked: “In India, the construction industry often suffers due to the lack of detailed, high-quality drawings. At SEDA, we are committed to equipping our students with the skills to produce building details that ensure durability, soundproofing, and waterproofing, raising the overall standard of construction.”
Additionally, the final-year architecture students’ projects are particularly noteworthy this year. These students have worked on urban design proposals for the city of Baroda, addressing critical questions around making cities more livable and enhancing public spaces. Mr. Sandeep Virmani lauded these efforts, stating: “SEDA’s focus on urban planning and design reflects a deep commitment to creating cities that foster community, sustainability, and better quality of life. It is inspiring to see students tackle real-world challenges with such innovative solutions.”
