During the between Bangladesh and India, Bangladesh U-19 skipper Azizul Hakim Tamim was seen encouraging the crowd to chant ‘Allahu Akbar’ during the final moments of the match against India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh defended their crown after securing a 59-run victory in the final.
Commenting on the moment, Atul Wassan, who was on air during the match, said, “They are showmen. They know what to do, how to play to the galleries. This is what maturity and coming of age means.”

Bangladesh U-19 register comprehensive win over India U-19
After being put in to bat first, Bangladesh produced a disappointing batting performance getting bowle dout for 198 runs in 49.1 overs. Mohammad Rizan Hossan top-scored with 47 runs while Mohammad Shihab James made 40. Captain Azizul was dismissed for 16.
For India, Yudhajit Guha, Hardik Raj and Chetan Sharma picked up two wickets each while Ayush Mhatre and Kiran Chormale chipped in with a wicket each.
The chase looked comfortable and within India’s grasp. However the boys in blue suffered a batting collapse while chasing modest target. Openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaiubhav Suryavanshi failed to score big runs.
A brief third-wicket partnership between C Andre Siddarth and KP Karthikeya gave some respite to India before Rizan Hossan broke the stand in the 12th over with the wicket of Siddarth (20). Karthikeya followed suit as he was dismissed by Iqbal Hossain Emon in the 21st over.
Skipper Mohammed Amaan (26) and Hardik Raj (24) tried to stabilise the chase. But dismissal of both batters saw rest of the wuickets falling with ease. For Bangladesh Azizul and Iqbal Emon took three wickets each to play the starring role with the ball. The team was eventually bowled out for 139 runs in 35.2 overs.
