Indore (Madhya Pradesh): To enhance quality of care for cancer patients, the Indore Cancer Foundation is organising an international conference on ‘Supportive Care’ on December 14 and 15 at the Indian Institute of Head and Neck Oncology. Moreover, the state government has also ordered to encourage voluntary participation in the academic session for medical college faculty, district hospital doctors, dental college professionals, and postgraduate students.
“On December 14, a special session on cancer care through Ayurveda will be conducted at the Indian Institute of Head and Neck Oncology, Rau. The foundation has been working for the past three years with Trans-Disciplinary University, Bengaluru to improve symptom management through Ayurvedic practices,” founder chairman Dr Digpal Dharkar said.
The symposium will feature international experts, including Paolo Bossi from Milan, Italy, a member of the multinational Supportive Care Management Group, and Dr Donald Pantoff from the United States. Renowned medical professionals from Mumbai and Ayurvedic experts from Bengaluru will also participate in the conference.
“Special sessions at the Indian Institute of Head and Neck Oncology, Rau, will cover various aspects of symptom management, including the early integration of supportive care, under which symptoms are prevented before beginning of cancer treatment,” Dr Dharkar said adding “Practical demonstration in laser-based photobiomodulation therapy will also be provided during the conference.”
