Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A new park situated behind the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is going to be officially named “Eurasia Park.” The name proposal, which comes after the approval of the park’s development, will be formally reviewed by the Mayor-in-Council meeting to be held on Tuesday.
The MiC meeting will be held with a packed agenda that touches on a range of urban development and civic improvement projects across the city. Among the key items up for discussion are proposals aimed at enhancing infrastructure, improving public services and addressing key municipal issues.
One of the major topics of discussion will be the proposal to send a request to the state government for land conversion and the declaration of generating areas for various roads under development as part of Indore’s Master Plans and the Indore Development Plan.
This proposal follows the PWD’s recent review of the municipal commissioner’s letter regarding ongoing road projects funded through special central assistance. The meeting will also address several key service and infrastructure contracts.
Notably, the annual rate for the maintenance of air conditioners, fans and coolers at municipal buildings is set for approval, alongside tender rates for the upkeep of streetlights and high mast lights across the city. Besides, the procurement of 100 electric garbage tippers under the Swachh Bharat Mission will be discussed.
Action on Unauthorised Tube Wells
Another important issue will be the proposed actions to curb the commercial and industrial use of private tube wells in the city. Following a review of the commissioner’s letter, the MiC will discuss further steps to ensure that these unauthorised practices are addressed effectively.
Expansion of Sewerage Treatment Works
As part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s sewerage infrastructure under the AMRUT 2.0 project, a series of tenders related to the construction and operation of sewage treatment plants (STPs) will be reviewed. This includes the 80 MLD and 40 MLD STPs, along with associated works for laying sewer lines.
New Overhead Water Tanks Construction
The construction of new RCC high-level tanks in Indore-5 will also be discussed. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 18.82 crore and the Mayor-in-Council is expected to approve the revised tender rates for the project.
