4-Day International Gita Mahotsav: CM Mohan Yadav To Flag-Off ISKCON’s Chariot On Wednesday

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Under the 4-day International Gita Mahotsav, a lecture will be delivered by motivational speaker Vivek Bindra at Kalidas Sanskrit Academy campus at 6 pm on Wednesday. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will attend Gita Jayanti programme as chief guest. There will be a Saraswat Udbodhan at 7 pm. The programme will be presided over by minister of culture, tourism, religious trusts and endowments Dharmendra Singh Lodhi.

During the programme, books like Shri Ganesh Gita, Shri Ram Gita, Shri Devi Gita, Shri Shiv Gita, Shri Yam Gita, Various Dimensions of Indian Knowledge Tradition and Indianisation of Time will also be released. CM Yadav will flag-off the chariot of ISKCON’s Srimad Bhagavad Gita propagation. He will see exhibition of paintings related to Shrimad Bhagavad Purana made in Pahari style by Chamba artist Vijay Sharma organised at Kalidas Academy after which he will join the main programme.

On Tuesday, collector Neeraj Kumar Singh reviewed preparations for Gita Jayanti programme and gave directions to concerned officials. He also visited the venue and asked officials to ensure all required preparations in time. Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodhpeeth director Shriram Tiwari was also present.

Play ‘Krishnayan’ being staged

KRISHNAYAN STAGED

On the second day of International Gita Mahotsav, Krishna-centric Mahanatya ‘Krishnayan’ was staged on Monday evening. It was directed by Sanjeev Malviya. On the occasion, collector Neeraj Singh, Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodhpeeth director Shriram Tiwari, Vikram University executive council members Rajesh Kushwah and Naresh Sharma, archaeologist Dr Raman Solanki inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. After this, the director of the presentation was welcomed by presenting Shrimad Bhagwad Gita, Vikram Panchang and a bouquet.

In the Mahanatya, Ved Vyas tells devotees about Krishna’s birth. Saddened by increasing incest on Earth, Earth goes to Brahmadev. She prays for his protection. Brahmadev goes to Lord Vishnu along with all Gods. Lord Vishnu assures his Krishna incarnation. Ved Vyas tells Kansa’s past. Kansa’s sister Devaki’s marriage takes place. At the time of farewell, there is an Akashvani (voice from the sky) that Devaki’s seventh son will kill Kansa. Kansa imprisons Devaki and Vasudev. Krishna is born. Vasudev leaves Krishna at Nanda-Yashoda’s house. Happiness is celebrated at Nanda’s place. Kansa sends many demons to Gokul to kill Krishna. But all of them are killed. Krishna meets Radha. Krishna plays Raas with Gopis. Ved Vyas tells the secret of Raas.

Kansa sends Akrur to call Krishna and Balram to Mathura. Krishna and Balram kill Kansa after killing wrestlers there. Krishna comes to Sandipani ashram in Ujjaini to receive education. Krishna meets Mitravrinda in Ujjaini. The scenes of Rukmini’s and Mitravrinda’s abduction are shown. Krishna goes to Parshuram’s ashram. Shishupal is killed.

DIALOGUE HELD

Under International Gita Festival, a dialogue based on Shrimad Bhagavad Gita was organised at Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodhpeeth on Tuesday. It was presided over by proctor of Vikram University Prof Shailendra Sharma.

The guests of the programme were Shodhpeeth’s director Shriram Tiwari, Padma Shri Dr Bhagwatilal Rajpurohit and executive council member Rajesh Singh Kushwaha and archaeologist Narayan Vyas and Dr Raman Solanki. Along this Alexander (Ukraine), Levinek (Ukraine), Dmitry Malikev (Russia) and Jagat Jeevan Das (Ujjain) as representative of ISKCON graced the programme.
