Pune Book Festival 2024
On December 11, from 12 to 1 pm, this initiative will take place across various locations in Pune, including Pune Metro, Pune Airport, railway stations, rickshaw stops, and PMPML stops. During this hour, the entire city will embrace silence, reading their books and stories together, fostering a spirit of intellectual connection. People will read books of their choice or those available at these venues, with many actively participating and sharing their experiences through photographs.
The initiative will be a part of the larger Pune Book Festival, which will be held at Fergusson College from December 14 to 22, 2024. During this period, everyone in the city will be encouraged to read, whether it’s a book they’ve selected themselves or those available at public spaces. This initiative will also be celebrated across Savitribai Phule Pune University, affiliated colleges, private universities, research institutes, public libraries, and community libraries. Numerous social organizations and associations will join in collective reading sessions in public squares.
Rajesh Pandey, the chief organizer of the Pune Book Festival, emphasized the importance of this initiative in promoting the reading culture. “By participating in such activities, citizens will understand the importance of reading, and it will help instill a deeper love for books,” he said.
