Mahindra Auto is offering significant year-end discounts of up to Rs 3.06 lakh on its popular second-generation Thar. The 3-door Thar, launched in 2020, remains one of the brand’s top sellers, despite the introduction of the new Thar Roxx variant. These discounts, available in December 2024, make the Thar an even more appealing option for off-road enthusiasts looking for a lifestyle vehicle.
The Mahindra Thar Earth Edition, launched in February 2024, is available with the highest discount of up to Rs 2.75 lakh. Based on the LX variant, this special edition features a unique ‘Desert Fury’ satin matte paint finish. Buyers can also enjoy complimentary accessories valued at Rs 25,000. The Thar Earth Edition, offered in both petrol and diesel variants, is priced between Rs 15.40 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra is offering attractive year-end discounts on various Thar variants. The 2WD (RWD) LX AT variant gets a Rs 1.31 lakh discount, while the 2WD Diesel MT and AX Optional MT variants are priced lower by Rs 56,000. Discounts for the 4WD variants, available in both petrol and diesel, reach up to Rs 1.06 lakh, along with Rs 25,000 worth of bundled accessories. The Mahindra Thar’s price range starts from Rs 11.35 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom). It offers three engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine in RWD and 4×4 configurations, a 2.2-litre diesel engine exclusive to 4×4 variants, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine for RWD variants, all available with manual or automatic transmissions.
Tata Motors has also announced a price increase across its entire range, effective from January 2025. The company will raise prices by up to 3% on both its internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) models. The price hike, attributed to rising inflation and higher commodity costs, will vary depending on the specific model and variant. This adjustment will affect a range of ICE vehicles, including the Tiago, Punch, Altroz, Tigor, Nexon, Curvv, and Harrier, as well as the electric models such as the Curvv EV, Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Punch EV.
