MP Power Distribution MD Urges Swift Completion Of RDSS Projects: 30 Grids To Be Ready In 3 Months

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company managing director Rajni Singh has stressed the need to expedite the ongoing work under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and instructed contractors to complete the remaining 30 grids across districts, including Indore, within the next three months.

During a review meeting, Singh on Friday discussed the progress of RDSS with officials and contractor representatives focussing on critical components like 33/11 KV grids, transformers, conductor upgrades, capacitor banks and underground cables.

She warned that delays could negatively impact the company’s ranking and directed firms to bear the consequences of any losses resulting from missed deadlines.  “Time compliance is crucial. Only three months remain in the current financial year and any lapse in progress will not be tolerated,” she said.

Weekly monitoring of progress was mandated to ensure the timely completion of work. Singh directed superintending officers from various districts to closely monitor progress in their areas and ensure timely project delivery.

Capacitor Bank Installation Nearing Completion

It was reported that out of 741 capacitor banks planned, 620 have been installed with the remaining work slated for completion by the end of December. These capacitor banks along with 50 grids of 250 MVA capacity are ensuring adequate electricity supply for farmers during the Rabi season.
