UP: Man Befriends Infant Girl’s Father, Drinks Alcohol With Him Before Abducting Her At Ghaziabad Railway Station

In a shocking incident at Ghaziabad railway station in Uttar Pradesh, a four-month-old baby girl was abducted in broad daylight on Tuesday.

According to the English daily Times of India, Deepak, a resident of Masuri village, along with his wife Archana (23) and daughter Kismat, was waiting to board a train to Agra after buying tickets in the morning at Ghaziabad railway station.

Since there was time for their train to arrive, Deepak went outside the station and saw two men drinking alcohol. He approached the men and joined them.

According to reports, he went to buy liquor multiple times until 2 PM.

In his complaint to the police, Deepak stated that one of the two men identified himself as Vikash and mentioned he was also traveling to Agra to visit a relative. “Around 2:30 PM on December 10, when Archana went to the washroom and I was in an unconscious state, the accused took advantage of the situation and escaped with my daughter. When Archana found her daughter missing, she searched everywhere but couldn’t find her, while I regained consciousness around 8 PM,” Deepak said, as quoted by TOI.

The parents of the baby girl approached the police around 9 PM. Acting on the complaint, the railway police booked the suspect Vikash under Section 137 (2) (punishment for kidnapping) of the BNS.

Deepak told the police that his wife was receiving treatment at a hospital in Ghaziabad for her mental illness. His wife wanted to return to their village, and he was going to drop her off in Chhatarpur. He explained that they had planned to board the train on December 9 but missed it. They decided to sleep on the platform and catch a train for Agra the next afternoon, from where he would take a train to Madhya Pradesh.

“I was not aware that a few hours of friendship would destroy my life. The man asked me a few times to hand over my daughter to him, offering me some money, but I refused. He took advantage of the situation and fled with my child,” Deepak said.
