Congress Stages Demonstration Over BJP Govt’s Failure To Fulfil Promises In Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Congress staged a protest against the BJP-led state government, accusing it of failing to fulfil promises made during assembly polls within its first year in office. The protest was organised here at Jawahar Chowk, on Monday.

‘Today, we protested against the state government for failing to fulfil promises made during assembly polls. The government has neither provided proper MSPs for crops, nor Rs 3k monthly to beneficiaries of Ladli Behna Yojana, nor jobs for the state’s youth’, Congress state President Jitu Patwari said. ‘Ek saal bemisaal’ in loans, crimes, commissions, rapes, unfulfilled promises to farmers and the way the BJP-led state government has pushed the future of the youth into darkness.

When I took over as state Congress chief, I vowed to fulfil responsibilities of the Opposition with honesty,’ Patwari stated. He also asked people to take oath in support of caste-based census. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath said, ‘The economy of this state is based on agriculture but farmers are not getting fertilisers and power for agriculture. How will this state grow?”

State in-charge Jitendra Singh applauded Congress’s victory in Vijaypur and also able to reduce the victory margin. He said, ‘People of the state have showed their power, they had snatched the seat from the sitting minister and have shown their presence in Budhni’.

Tractor-trolley march foiled

Opposition leader Umang Singhar decided to go to the assembly on tractor-trolleys to protest against BJP government’s failure to provide fertiliser to farmers. The demonstration was foiled by the police, when the Congress MLAs’ bid to take out a tractor-trolley march from Shivaji Nagar to the assembly premises. Later, Congress MLAs marched towards the assembly premises holding empty sacks of fertilisers.

They raised slogans against the state government at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Vidhan Bhavan. Security personnel prevented legislators from entering the House with empty sacks.

INSET Cong leaders meet deceased Parmar’s children All India Congress Committee General Secretary Jitendra Singh, Media Head Pawan Kheda, State Congress President Jeetu Patwari, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, National President of Women’s Congress Alka Lamba and other Congressmen reached Ashta and met the children of deceased Manoj Parmar (Gullak Team) and consoled them, on Monday.

Manoj Parmar and his wife Neha committed suicide, after Enforcement Directorate sleuths raided them. It is alleged that ED officials mounted pressure on the couple to join BJP.
