Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): MP West Zone Electricity Distribution Company (DISCOM) is giving new service connections on priority basis. More than 71k connections have been provided in seven districts of Ujjain division till December 15. Most connections have been given in Ujjain, Ratlam, Dewas, Mandsaur.
DISCOM managing director Rajni Singh said that new connections are also being provided online. In urban areas, connections are also being given on priority in two to three days. She said that the highest number of connections in Ujjain division have been provided in Ujjain district, which is 18,054.
Mandsaur district is in second place with 11,608 new service connections and Ratlam district is in third place with 10,973 new service connections. 10,752 connections have been given in Dewas district which is at fourth place in the division, 8,387 connections in Agar district (fifth place), followed by 6,368 connections in Neemuch district.
4,890 consumers of Shajapur district took the least number of new service connections in the division. She informed that the company’s emphasis is on paperless and online method. Under this, online application can be made through Urja App or company’s portal mpwz.co.in.
If connection is duly demanded near the existing line and it is a legal colony, the payment link of the demand note related to the connection is sent immediately. After payment is made, meter is installed after proper connection. The consumer does not have to go to the zone or distribution centre.
