Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Congress MLA Arif Masood may lose his Vidhan Sabha membership (MLA-ship) as High Court, principal bench of Jabalpur has admitted that documents submitted by BJP candidate Dhru Narain Singh with reference of bank loan of his arch-rival Congress MLA Arif Masood are correct and verified by bank officials.
Secondly, the HC also admitted prima facie that Congress MLA Arif Masood had hidden the fact that he had taken a bank loan of Rs 50 lakh in his nomination paper during assembly elections.
BJP candidate Dhruv Narain Singh has challenged the election of Congress MLA Arif Masood. The next hearing will be on January 3, 2025. If Masood is found guilty in the case, then he may lose Vidhan Sabha membership (MLA-ship). On Tuesday, the Madhya Pradesh High Court heard the election petition filed against Congress MLA Arif Masood.
BJP candidate Dhruv Narayan Singh informed Free Press said, ‘The picture is almost clear in the High Court which has admitted that bank loan documents which I have submitted in the court are correct and verified by bank officials.
The court also admitted that Masood hid the fact of bank loan in his nomination papers. So all these show that Masood is guilty. So he will be debarred for six years and will lose his MLA-ship.’
