Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A car driven by a retired excise commissioner hit multiple vehicles and ended up catching fire in Vijay Nagar area on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred in Scheme No. 54 at 6 pm when the retired excise commissioner mistakenly pressed the accelerator in place of brake and caused damage to three cars and a two-wheeler. Due to the collision, the car caught fire which was doused by residents.
According to the police, one Sanchit Verma lodged a complaint stating that the car was being driven by 85-year-old retired excise commissioner NK Ahuja who lives behind him. He was driving the car at high speed and recklessly. Initially, he hit Pankaj Vijayvargiya’s car (MP09CS6100) parked on the roadside.
Due to this, his car collided with Sanjeev Shukla’s car (MH20FG6729), Vinita Chauhan’s scooty (MP09VW6887) and complainant’s car (MP09DV7007) parked ahead. Due to the collision, the accused’s car too caught fire. The police registered a case against the accused under section 281 of the BNS and began a probe.
Man Stabs Wife, Consumes Poison
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man consumed some poisonous substances after stabbing his wife in Azad Nagar police station area, an official said on Thursday. The woman suffered severe wounds in her abdomen and was undergoing treatment at a hospital, while her husband was also hospitalised.
According to the police, one Maya Bai, wife of Ghanshyam Sindhe, a resident of Mayur Nagar in Musakhedi, lodged a complaint stating that she had been living separately from her husband for the last six months. On Tuesday night, her husband Ghanshyam confronted her when she was returning home from work.
He asked her to go along with him, and when she refused, the accused abused her and stabbed her twice in the abdomen, resulting in severe injuries.
Additional DCP Alok Kumar Sharma said that the accused suspected that his wife was having an extra-marital affair and wanted her to stop going to work. Later, the accused consumed some poisonous substance and was admitted to the hospital. The police registered a case against the accused under sections 296, 109(1), and 351(2) of the BNS and further investigation is underway.
