64th Liberation Day celebrated with enthusiasm in Daman

The 64th Liberation Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the Union Territory of Daman on Thursday. Deputy District Magistrate (General) Aarti Agarwal hoisted the flag as the chief guest on this occasion. Various public representatives, officials, local citizens and students were present in large numbers in this ceremony.

After the flag hoisting, the Deputy District Magistrate in his address gave a brief information about the development works done in Daman and Diu in the last few years under the able leadership of the Honorable Administrator Praful Patel.

He informed that many important projects have been completed in the region in the fields of infrastructure development, education, health, tourism and sanitation over the years. Mrs. Aarti Agarwal said that under the able leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and due to the far-sighted thinking and efficient guidance of the Administrator, the Union Territory of Daman has set new dimensions of development. She said that the objective of the Honorable Prime Minister is to make India a developed nation by the year 2047 and for this we are making continuous efforts.

At the end of the program, the Deputy Collector requested all the citizens to cooperate in the development of Daman and paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose efforts made this day possible.

It is worth mentioning that various programs have been organized in Daman Municipality, District Panchayat, all Panchayats and all schools on the occasion of the 64th Liberation Day.
