Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon, who carved a niche for herself with the 2021 film Mimi, shared that it was the first time when she continued to cry even after the director ended the shot. Kriti revealed that the breakdown scene in the film took a toll on her and it also required a lot of efforts.
During her appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Kriti explained, “It is one of my most favourite shots of that film as an actor. In front of the mirror, when I put powder and then I throw everything, and then I go and I start tearing all the posters and all…It’s a small scene but it requires a lot from within…”
She went on to say, “Some magic happened in that shot and for the first time in my life, even after the ‘cut’, I kept crying, which I felt would never happen with me.”
For those unversed, Kriti played a surrogate mother in the film, who is left with the child after the parent couple backs out of the deal. It was one of the biggest hits of 2021 and was lauded by the masses and critics alike for its emotional screenplay as well as the acting by the entire cast.
Kriti even won the National Film Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Mimi. “ELATED OVERWHELMED – GRATEFUL Still sinking it in.. pinching myself.. this has actually happened!
