In the last two years, actor Rohan Gurbaxani has been regularly seen in an interesting bunch of projects, including the Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) which had Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (2023) with Ananya Panday and Bandish Bandits. In a recent interaction with us, he spoke about the time when Ranveer had sent him a DM on Instagram.
“I had a small 2 minute role in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. It had been 10 days since the film had released and I was sitting at home, when I get a DM from Ranveer Singh. Just to clarify, this is the Ranveer Singh, not some random guy who’s got Ranveer Singh as a name on Insta or a Ranveer Singh fan page called ‘Ranveer Singh World.’ So I’m just sitting there looking at the message where he’s appreciated my role and it made me realise that no matter how on top of the world you are in whatever industry you are in, just know that you should appreciate people’s work if you like it You shouldn’t feel like ‘I’ve reached here and I can’t be telling these people’. That was one of the biggest recognitions I’ve ever got. I felt. People can turn down a small role because it seems insignificant, but if you can do that role truthfully, in your own way, people will still see it and like it,” he told us.
Rohan has received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. At NYU, he trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute and Stonestreet Studios for Film & TV.
