Mumbai: The women who give birth to Taimur and Aurangzeb can never be our role models, said Sadhvi Rithambara at the Path Sanchalan event held in Dadar to commemorate Ahilyabai Holkar and Rani Durgavati ‘s birth anniversaries.
On Sunday, around 5,000 women gathered in Dadar’s Raja Shivaji Vidyalaya to pay tributes to Ahilyabai Holkar and Rani Durgavati on their 300th and 500th birth anniversaries respectively.
The ‘path sanchalan’ event organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s women wings Matrushakti and Durga Vahini, aimed to inspire young Hindu women to follow the principles of women like Holkar and Durgavati.
The foot march was followed by a public gathering where the event’s key speaker Sadhvi Rithambara said that the woman who gives birth to Taimur and Aurangzeb can never be the country’s ideal.
She added that women like Ahilyabai Holkar, Jijabai and Rani Durgavati who fought against Mughals are the nation’s true role models.
“The biggest challenge faced by women is that when our Sanatan faith goes into the hands of non-Hindus, it gets disintegrated. I request all the women to not be a victim of Love Jihad. The women of this country are capable to take a stand against vidharmis and love jihad,” said Sadhvi Rithambara, who is the founder of Durga Vahini.
Ujwala Chakradeo, the vice chancellor of SNDT University, said, “Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve founded SNDT University to empower women. Today, Matrushakti and Durga Vahini are also working with the same intention. Through the New Education Policy, the country’s glorious tradition and the history of its brave women will be a part of our academic curriculum, which is a matter of pride for us.”
The gathering took a resolution to end ill practices like ‘Love Jihad’ in the country.
