About Gurpreet Gogi
Gogi joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2022 and successfully defeated two-time MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu from the Ludhiana West constituency during the assembly elections. His wife, Sukhchain Kaur Gogi, also contested the Municipal Corporation elections but lost to Congress candidate Inderjit Singh Indi.
Earlier on Friday, Gogi had an active schedule. He met Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan and MP Sant Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal to discuss a cleanliness drive for Buddha Nullah. He had been vocal about his frustrations with delays in the Buddha Nullah pipeline project, even going so far as to dismantle the foundation stone he had laid in 2022 to protest the lack of progress, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Speaker Sandhwan had assured him of stringent action to address the issues hindering the project. Additionally, Gogi visited the Prachin Sheetla Mata Mandir on Friday, where he promised devotees that he would take action against a gang of burglars who had recently stolen silver from the temple.
