Navi Mumbai traffic authorities have announced traffic restrictions in Navi Mumbai to ensure smooth flow and safety during the much-anticipated Coldplay concert at Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium, Nerul. The global music sensation will perform on January 18, 19, and 21.

Given the expected influx of artists, VIPs, and thousands of fans, the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate has issued special traffic control measures. The restrictions are aimed at maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, and preventing traffic congestion around the stadium.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tirupati Kakade, has issued an order under the Motor Vehicles Act, Sections 115, 116(1)(a)(b), and 117. The order specifies prohibition of Heavy Vehicles. All types of heavy and goods-carrying vehicles are barred from entering, traveling, or parking on any roads within the jurisdiction of the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate.

The restrictions will be in effect on January 18, 19, and 21 from 2pm to 12 am each day. Vehicles carrying essential commodities, police vehicles, fire brigades, ambulances, government vehicles, and other essential services will be exempt from the restrictions. Vehicles with official event management passes will also be allowed.

“Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly on the concert dates and avoid roads near the stadium during the restricted hours. Adequate arrangements to facilitate the movement of emergency and essential services during this period will be made,” DCP Kakade said.

The Coldplay concert at Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium marks a significant cultural event for Navi Mumbai, and the police department has urged the public to cooperate with the traffic guidelines to ensure a successful and hassle-free experience for all.
