The Coldplay magic is all set to move from the city of Mumbai to another Western India city, Ahmedabad. While prices of accommodation and travel to the city have naturally gone up, the prices of the said facilities in another major Gujarat city have also increased.
Hotel Prices Rise Amidst Coldplay Fever
Here, we are talking about the Gujarati city of Vadodara or Baroda, as some call it. The city is located about 110 kilometres from the venue of Coldplay’s performance in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
As per data available on Booking.com, the prices of accommodation for a four day stay between January 24 and January 27 have gone up significantly. The concerts are happening between January 25 and January 26.
Here, we have the case of five hotels, namely, Sunday Hotel Vadodara, Hyatt Place Vadodara, Hotel Suba Elite Vadodara, Fortune Inn Promenade, Vadodara and Click White House Residency, Vadodara.
Further, we draw a comparison between the prices of accommodation between January 24 -27 and February 27, a month apart.
Sunday Hotel in Vadodara
In this, Sunday Hotel in Vadodara appears to be one of the most expensive of all.
The hotel will charge travellers over Rs 79,000 for a stay of 3 nights for 2 adults between January 24 and 27. However, a month later, the prices go down significantly to around Rs 14,000 under the same conditions, between February 24 and 27. It is to be noted, that these are discounted prices, the ‘actual prices’ are higher.
Hyatt Place Vadodara
Then we have Hyatt Place Vadodara; here the prices for accommodation under the aforementioned circumstances will incur an expenditure to around Rs 21,000 in February.
In January, in the day leading up to the Coldplay concert, the hotel, as per Booking.com, has no rooms available.
Hotel Suba Elite Vadodara
The Hotel Suba Elite in Vadodara is offering rooms during both these periods. The price of the hotel in January stands at over Rs 26,000.
In February, the rate of the hotel for a period of 4 days stands at around Rs 14,000, marking a major difference of around Rs 8,000.
Fortune Inn Promenade
Up next we have Fortune Inn Promenade. Here, contrary to others, the prices have increased for booking in February compared to January.
Fortune Inn is currently offering rooms for 3 nights at the price of around Rs 32,000 compared to its rate of Rs 39,000 in late February.
Click White House Residency
Another example is of that of Click White House Residency, Vadodara. Here, once again, there is a major difference in the pricing of the rooms, when compared between January 24-27 and February 24-27.
In January, the room is priced at Rs 20,000, compared to around Rs 10,000 in February.
