‘You Don’t Need Smog’: Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar Take Brutal Dig At Harry Brook After Varun Chakravarthy Dismisses Him During IND Vs ENG 2nd T20I

Former Team India coach and commentator Ravi Shastri brutally trolled on air after being dismissed by Varun Charavarthy for the second consecutive time during the India vs England 2nd T20I at Chepauk. On the third delivery of the seventh over, Harry Brook was outfoxed by a superb googly from Varun Chakaravarthy.

The ball pitched on length, on off and came back in sharply before Harry Brook could react. The ball caught the inside edge of the bat and shattered the stumps leaving the England batter in shock. Shastri who is commentating the match did not hold back his emotions on air and said, “you don’t need the smog. It sneaked through.” Gavaskar also took a shot at Brook stating “Varun Chakaravarthy is looking at him (Harry Brook) and saying, ‘Look, if there’s any smog there’,”

Shastri’s comment comes after Brook had blamed the smog for his team’s failure in the first T20I against India at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ahead of the second match, the England vice-captain said that he and other players were not able to pick the ball from the hands of the spinners, leading to their dismissals.

He had said, “Varun Chakravarthy is a good bowler, but we couldn’t pick the Indian spinners because of the poor visibility due to smog. I am hoping to see better conditions in Chennai,”
