Indore: Congress Prepares For Mega Rally At BR Ambedkar’s Birthplace

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Senior Congress leaders, including national general secretary Jitendra Singh and Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Singh, visited Mhow Veterinary College Ground to oversee preparations for the public rally of AICC leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge.

The event, to be held at Dr BR Ambedkar’s birthplace on January 27, aims to defend Constitutional values and challenge alleged BJP attempts to undermine them.

Addressing the media, Jitendra Singh, national secretary Sanjay Dutt, and former minister Sajjan Singh Verma criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for disrespecting Ambedkar and marginalising vulnerable communities.

They accused the BJP of planning to alter the Constitution and called for Shah to apologise for remarks against Ambedkar. Congress leaders highlighted the BJP’s governance failures, pointing to rising corruption, crime, and neglect of Dalits, tribals, and backward classes in Madhya Pradesh.

Singh noted the BJP’s declining parliamentary majority as a sign of public dissatisfaction with its ‘dictatorial rule’. The rally, expected to attract thousands, will see participants pledging to protect Constitutional principles.

Leaders inspected arrangements, including the stage, seating, and parking, ensuring smooth execution despite alleged BJP efforts to disrupt the event. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh also addressed a meeting in Indore to invite people to join the rally.
