Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Cops at Katara Hills police station cracked a case of theft at a BDA employee’s house and arrested her domestic help for the crime. Police recovered two gold chains which the maid had stolen from the locker of the almirah.
According to police, Sheela Motwani, a computer operator at BDA and a resident of Kasturi Royal Park area, approached police on January 25 with a theft complaint.
Motwani in her complaint stated that two gold chains which she kept in the locker of her almirah were missing. She raised suspicion that her maid may have stolen the jewellery.
An FIR was lodged on her complaint and the maid Seema Dhurve (24) was rounded up for questioning in this connection. However, Seema at first tried to mislead the police and denied her hand in the theft.
However, she gave in when police produced concrete evidence against her and she confessed to having stolen the gold chains. The maid claimed that she committed the theft out of greed and was planning to sell the jewellery.
On her confession, police recovered the stolen gold chains worth Rs 2.25 lakh from her home at Barai village.
