Vadodara (Gujarat), January 28: In a shocking incident, a young man who was out on bail created chaos in the middle of the road on Monday, January 27 morning. The people were shocked to witness the man present with a fire extinguisher in his hand and vandalising vehicles on the road.
The incident occurred around 10 AM, where a young man was seen wandering with a fire extinguisher on a road approximately 200 meters from the Gotri Police Station. The accused who has been identified as Dheeraj Kanojiya (27) caused chaos by stopping passing car drivers and demanding their mobile phones. If the drivers refused to comply, he attacked their cars with the fire extinguisher bottle, shattering windows and creating panic among the locals.
The individual’s actions resulted in the damage of several vehicles and injuries to three people. Witnesses reported that he controlled the road for nearly 30 minutes, leaving commuters and residents in fear. However, some courageous individuals eventually intervened and subdued him. They also gave him a beating and handed him over to the police.
Upon being informed of the situation, officials from the Gotri Police Station quickly arrived at the scene and arrested the man. According to ACP Ashok Rathwa, the individual is an accused murderer who had recently been released on bail on January 18.
Currently, the man is undergoing medical treatment for the injuries sustained during the incident. Police officials have also conducted medical tests and plan to perform a psychological evaluation to determine his mental condition. As per reports, ACP Rathwa further stated that the police intend to request the court to cancel his bail.
Interestingly, initial investigations revealed that the man was neither under the influence of substances nor involved in any robberies during the incident. The reasons behind his violent behaviour remain unclear. Authorities will only be able to confirm whether he is mentally unstable after completing their investigation.
