Prateek Goswami has taken charge as the Additional General Manager of Central Railway on 29th January 2025.
Who Is Prateek Goswami?
He is an Officer of the Indian Railway Stores Service from the 1990 Batch. Before taking over as Additional General Manager, at Central Railway, he was serving as Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, at Central Railway with the additional charge of Chief Vigilance Officer, at Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd.
Prateek Goswami is a Civil Engineering Graduate from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur and a Postgraduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He joined the Indian Railway Stores Service in 1990.
Throughout his distinguished career of 34 years, Goswami has held key positions in different capacities over Indian Railways and other organisations.
Goswami has vast experience of more than 18 years in Public procurement, Contract management and distribution of materials and has played a key role during his tenure at Integral Coach Factory, Chennai in procuring components for Vande Bharat Express and ensuring their timely delivery thereby contributing to the launch of Vande Bharat Express trains as announced by Hon’ble Prime Minister.
As Divisional Railway Manager, Bhavnagar Division, Western Railway, Goswami was instrumental in introducing and successfully running the First Full Double Stack Container Train on high rise Over Head Equipment which is a World Record.
Shri Goswami has vast experience in the Vigilance Organisation having served as
Chief Vigilance Officer, Nuclear Power Corporation Ltd with the additional charge of CVO, Bhartiya Nagarikiya Vidyut Nigam Ltd and Dy. Chief Vigilance Officer, Western Railway. He has also been the recipient of the “Vigilance Excellence Award” in 2017 by the Central Vigilance Commission from the hands of the then Hon’ble Vice President of India.
He has served as Professor, at the National Academy of Indian Railways, Vadodara. imparting training in Material Management. He has enriched his expertise through various training sessions in the areas of Management, Finance, Procurement, Vigilance, and administration at various institutes within India and abroad viz. IIM-Ahmedabad, ISM-Hyderabad, ASC-Hyderabad, SDA-Bocconi-Italy, EML-France, INSEAD-Singapore and ICLIF-Malaysia.
In his new capacity as Additional General Manager, Shri Prateek Goswami is poised to leverage his extensive experience to further the development and increase efficiency of Central Railway.
