UP: Suspended Cop Sets Up Tea Stall In Front Of Senior’s Office In Jhansi (Video)

A police inspector in Uttar Pradesh was upset over his suspension and drawing half the salary during this period. He set up a tea stall in front of his senior’s office and drafted a letter suggesting he would run his house through the income he earned by running this stall, according to news media reports. It was also mentioned the suspended cop refused to draw a portion of his salary and wanted to rely wholly on his own tea business.

Suspended cop refuses to draw half salary, sets up tea stall

The cop is identified as police inspector Mohit Yadav. He was temporarily taken off his tasks after a dispute with the Reserve Inspector (RI). According to News18, he is facing a departmental inquiry following the incident along with his suspension.

A video of Yadav standing at his tea stall and preparing the beverage is widely circulated online. It showed the cop from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh turning into a tea seller in front of the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police.

“I am an inspector in the police. I am in the department, and wherever I go, some incident or the other is created and a departmental investigation is carried out on me. During my suspension period, I wrote a letter to the investigating officers that I would not even take half the salary. I will do my own business. I will run my house from the tea stall only (translated)”, said Yadav while speaking to local media channels.
