6-Ft Snake Hiding Under Fridge In MOG Lines House Rescued In Indore

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A six-foot-long snake was found hiding under a refrigerator in a house located in a densely populated colony in the MOG Lines area on Sunday.

The family members heard the sound of utensils falling near the fridge and on checking, were shocked to see the large snake curled up underneath.

They immediately informed their neighbours and contacted a professional snake catcher. Snake rescuer Mahendra Srivastava located the snake using a flashlight and with the help of a family member, safely captured it. He identified the reptile as a non- venomous ‘Ghodha Pachad’ snake.

Srivastava educated the family about the snake, explaining that it was non-venomous but had fangs. He dispelled common myths, such as the belief that this species had a sting in its tail. He also emphasized that snakes did not attack unless they felt threatened.

Experts believe the snake may have entered the house in search of food after taking shelter in the area during the winter. Since the locality is densely populated, it is possible that the snake came from the nearby wood storage godowns.
