“I’m sorry… Kya naam hai apka?”
‘Hum Tum’ director didn’t frown or create a fuss at the show when the stand-up comedian failed to recognise him. Instead, he kept the performance going by answering the questions put forth by Kapoor.
“Are you like famous people? Kya naam hai apka?”, Kapoor asked.
Kunal Kohli then identified himself and mentioned he makes movies. Soon, the comedian asked Kohli to name some of his works: “I’m sorry. You make movies? What movie have you made sir?”.
Kunal Kohli’s reply
The filmmaker then stunned the performer by saying he is the director of well-known Bollywood films like Hum-Tum, Fanaa, and Mujhse Dosti Karoge. This response attracted a thunderous cheer from fellow audience, who learned they were enjoying the show with the noted Indian film director.

More details
Kunal Kohli attended the comedian’s show ‘Bandra to New York’ held in Mumbai.
During the show, Gaurav Kapoor referred to Bandra as the “New York of Mumbai”, suggesting it was a place where several rich people lived.
During his crowd work, he interacted with a couple who stayed in New York but were visiting India. He asked them whether they liked Bandra over the foreign destination and they replied saying “Yes”.
Next, he spoke to Kohli, however, initially unaware of who he was. “You guys are also from Bandra?”, he asked Kohli and his wife Ravini. “Aap log dekhe dekhe kyu lag rahe ho? (You guys look familiar) Are you like famous people?”, he questioned the Kohli couple only to realise who they were later.
