Maharashtra: CR GM Dharam Veer Meena Conducts Safety Inspection Of Ballarshah-Sewagram Section On Nagpur Division

Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager of Central Railway, conducted a detailed safety inspection of the Ballarshah-Sewagram section on the Nagpur Division on February 14, 2025.

At Ballarshah, the General Manager inspected the Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) cabin and panel room, relay/power unit, CCTV control room at the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Thana, the Station Manager’s office, crew lobby, crew running room, public reservation system (PRS), and various passenger amenities at the station. He also inspected the Limited Height Subway, goods shed, and the Road Accident Relief Train at Ballarshah.

The General Manager also interacted with employees and advised them to remain vigilant to ensure safety and security.

In addition, he interacted with prominent freight customers to discuss plans for realizing the existing potential and enhancing loading capacities.

At Chandrapur, Meena conducted a brief inspection of the station and met Kishor Jorgewar, MLA, and Sudhakar Adbale, MLC, to discuss various issues.

On this occasion, Meena also released department-specific booklets en route to improve the knowledge of staff and extend services to passengers and freight customers.

Furthermore, Meena inspected the Bhandak-Majri section. The General Manager also visited exhibition stalls displaying Ultrasonic Flaw Detection tools used for detecting defects in railway rails and welds, thus improving the safety and reliability of railway infrastructure.

Similarly, at Warora, the General Manager inspected the station, Railway Health Unit, and staff colony. Meena also met Karan Sanjay Devtale, MLA, and discussed several issues with him.

At Hinganghat, Meena inspected the traction substation.

The General Manager also conducted a speed run test on the Hinganghat–Chitoda section between km 789/7 and 762.07.

At Nagpur, the General Manager interacted with branch officers, emphasizing the Minister of Railways’ call for a threefold increase in efforts toward safety, maintenance, quality, and training (SMQT) to modernize railway infrastructure.

He held discussions with union representatives and interacted with the press, providing satisfactory answers to genuine queries.

The General Manager also engaged with ground-level staff throughout the inspection, emphasizing the importance of safe train operations and operational efficiency.

Shyam Sundar Gupta, Principal Chief Operations Manager of Central Railway, Vinayak Garg, Divisional Railway Manager of Nagpur Division, along with other Principal Heads of Departments and senior officers from Headquarters and the Nagpur Division, accompanied the General Manager during the inspection.
