US-India Strengthen Education Ties With Joint Degrees & Centers Of Excellence

Academic partnerships and shared Centers of Excellence will tighten the bond between the US and India. President Trump and Prime Minister Modi have committed to building academic partnerships among higher education institutions, driving innovation and enhancing learning outcomes.

Both leaders plan to create joint degree programs, enhancing student exchange and collaborative research. They also plan to establish joint Centers of Excellence, spurring innovation and sharing knowledge.

President Trump and Prime Minister Modi reiterated the importance of building people-to-people contacts between the US and India.

They noted the immense value that the more than 300,000 Indian students in the US bring to the US economy through injecting over $8 billion of foreign exchange per year and creating a host of direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The pledges were outlined in a joint statement released during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the US, a major milestone in enhancing US-India educational relations.
