Bhopal: Two Married Women Die By Suicide; Husbands Booked For Harassment & Dowry Abuse In Two Incidents

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Police have registered FIRs under abetment to suicide of two married women in two separate cases at Bairagarh and Ashoka Garden police stations. The married women were subjected to physical and mental torture by their husbands and relatives and that drove them to take the extreme step. A Bairagarh-based woman had hanged herself after being subjected to dowry by her husband.

According to reports, Varsha Rajak (28) was married to Sunil Rajak in December 2023. Sunil had started harassing her for dowry soon after their marriage following which Varsha hanged herself on January 30 this year at her home in Shivdham Colony under Bairagarh police station. Police officials said that following investigations a case of abetment to suicide and under section of dowry act has been registered against Sunil and he has been arrested.

Year Old Suicide Case Solved

In the other incident, Anjali Bansal had hanged herself at her home at Sundar Nagar under Ashoka Garden police station in March last year. Police investigations revealed that she took the extreme step following mental and physical harassment by her husband Hari Singh Bansal and his relative Rajendra. A case has been registered against the duo for abetment to suicide, police said.
