Indore: Entry Banned In MYH, Medical Reps Visit Associated Hospitals To Meet Docs

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): After facing strict restrictions in Maharaja Yeshwantrao (MY) hospital’s OPD, medical representatives (MRs) have stopped visiting the institute. Instead, they are now meeting doctors in Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College’s associated hospitals.

To bypass the ban, they choose OPD days when specific doctors are available. Despite the restrictions imposed by the MGM Medical College, doctors have not been able to stop their visits.

The state supplies medicines to government hospitals, yet MRs continue to visit OPDs in large numbers. Earlier, they were seen in MY Hospital, but after stricter enforcement of the ban on entry, they have shifted to MGM Medical College’s associated hospitals.

Some doctors meet them before OPD hours, while others call them to their chambers for discussions on medicines. The highest number of MR visits is in the mental hospital, Banganga, where they arrive before 1 PM and wait in the OPD area or garden before meeting doctors one by one. They are also seen in the superintendent’s office.

Additionally, MRs visit MTH, Government Cancer Hospital and TB Hospital two to three times a week during OPD hours.

“The ban is already in place at MY Hospital. If MRs are now visiting associated hospitals, a letter will be issued to stop this. Information about doctors meeting them will also be collected.”
