AAP Leaders & Former Delhi CMs Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi Congratulate Rekha Gupta After BJP Names Her New Chief Minister

New Delhi, February 19, 2025: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and also another former Delhi CM from the AAP, Atishi have extended their congratulatory messages to Rekha Gupta, who has been announced as the new Delhi Chief Minister by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday (February 19).

Arvind Kejriwal took to his official social media account and congratulated the new Delhi Chief Minister. He said, “Many congratulations to Rekha Gupta ji on becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi. I hope that she will fulfill all the promises made to the people of Delhi. We will support her in every work for the development and welfare of the people of Delhi.”

On Rekha Gupta being elected as the Chief Minister of Delhi, AAP leader Atishi said, “I would like to congratulate Rekha Gupta and I hope that she will definitely fulfill the promises that BJP has made to the people of Delhi …”

Rekha Gupta will be sworn-in as the Delhi Chief Minister on Thursday (February 20) in a grand oath taking ceremony. The ceremony will conducted at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi and the event will be graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

There are also reports that all the BJP CMs from different states of the country will also be present during the mega event. Ceremony will take place on Thursday at around 12 PM in the afternoon.

Preparations are being done at the Ramlila Maidan ahead of the announcement of the name of the Chief Minister of the National Capital. The announcement of the name of the CM was delayed due to the US visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party announced the name of Rekha Gupta as the Delhi CM after the PM returned from his US visit.
