Last month, Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina made it to the headlines for a wrong reason. Ranveer came on Samay’s show India’s Got Latent, and asked a contestant a question in reference to having ‘sex with parents’. This didn’t go down well with people on social media, and they were slammed for it. Multiple FIRs have been filed against both of them. Mika Singh had bashed both Ranveer and Samay when the controversy had happened, and now, in an interview with Pinkvilla, he has opened up about the whole scenario.
Mika had shared a video slamming Ranveer and Samay, and had called the episode ‘wahiyat’. Now, while talking to Pinkvilla, he said, “I don’t have any personal dushmani with Samay Raina, he is a sweet guy, and I have come to know that he is a big fan of mine. He is also a very good musician, he is multi-talented. Another guy, Ranveer Allahbadia, is also very nice. He is very understanding and sorted guy. But, he did one big mistake that he went on this show (India’s Got Latent). Ranveer’s show doesn’t match to Samay’s show. His show is different; it is a decent show. If Ranveer didn’t go on his show, maybe this wouldn’t have happened. Usse wahiyat baatein hoti hai Samay Raina ke show pe.”
Further talking about how youth is trying to follow Ranveer, Samay and other influencers, the singer said, “There’s a word, ‘bakchodi’. It has become such an easy word to use as if we are giving Bhagwan ka prasad. It is a bad word but because of people it has become a slang. Everyone wants to become hit and earn money. So, the youth and influencers feel that this work is good. Samay is successful, so now looking at him many will think even we want to become like him. They will also give bad words. If people will follow Samay and Ranveer, don’t you think that their career will also get spoiled. But, one needs to control youth.”
Mika recollected that how for the song Ae Ganpath Chal Daru Laa, he was given a notice for singing the lyrics ‘Uski maa uski behen ki jo dekhe idhar’. The singer revealed that the notices were not sent to actor Vivek Overoi or director Sanjay Gupta, but he got it. He also recollected how people wanted to ban him after he did a show in Pakistan.
When he was asked about the families of Samay and Ranveer getting death threats, Mika said, “I am not against them. I would also request everyone that if there’s one person’s mistake, don’t get their family in between. Boycott or unfollow them for sometime. But, whatever is happening right now, I just want to say forgive them. Their show is successful, they can speak well, but they don’t know how to handle things. So, one thing is important that you should know where to stop.”
Do you agree with what Mika said?
