19-Year-Old Student Hangs Herself To Death After She Fails Exams In Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 19-year-old student, Nosheen, committed suicide by hanging herself in her room on Tuesday evening under Nishatpura police station, reportedly upset over her failure in examinations.

The incident took place at her home in Orchid Colony, where she lived with her family, including her father, Shabi Hasan Jafri, a loco pilot.

No suicide note was found in the room, but her family claimed she was distressed about her academic struggles.

Nosheen, a class 12 student at Central School, was alone in her first-floor room while her family was preparing for iftaar downstairs.

When her younger sister went to call her, she found the room locked from inside. After repeated knocks yielded no response, her parents grew alarmed. Shabi Hasan broke open the door and found his daughter hanging. The family quickly brought her down and rushed her to a hospital, where she was declared brought dead on arrival.

Police arrived at the hospital after being informed and sent Nosheen’s body for post-mortem examination. Sub Inspector Harishankar said that no suicide note was found at the scene.

According to the girl’s family, Nosheen had failed her Intermediate examination last year and was repeating the class. This year, she again struggled, failing to secure good marks in her internal examinations, which left her deeply upset, the SI said.
