Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Jabalpur witnessed two green corridors on Friday to facilitate organ transport. The organs of 52-year-old Puran Singh, a resident of Bhedaghat, were transported to Jabalpur and Indore following his tragic death in a road accident.
Singh was admitted to Medical Hospital three days ago after suffering critical injuries. Despite efforts, doctors could not save him. His family decided to donate his organs, giving a new lease of life to those in need.
According to information, one of his kidneys was sent to a private hospital in Jabalpur via ambulance. The second kidney was transported to Indore via air ambulance from Dumna Airport. Along with the kidneys, Singh’s skin and eyes were also donated.
Over 150 police personnel and security guards were deployed to ensure a smooth operation. The two corridors were set up from Super Specialty Medical Hospital to Dumna Airport and from the hospital to a private hospital in Jabalpur. Singh’s last rites will be performed with state honors. His noble act has inspired many, setting an example of humanity and selflessness.
State’s Growing Legacy in Organ Donation
Madhya Pradesh has made significant strides in organ donation over the years, with cities like Indore and Bhopal leading awareness campaigns and medical advancements. The state witnessed its first successful heart transplant in 2018, marking a milestone in its healthcare system. Indore has been particularly proactive, creating multiple green corridors, including India’s first aerial green corridor in 2017.
