Navi Mumbai News: HSC Bookkeeping Answer Sheets Found Scattered On Road In Kamothe, Later Retrieved

A bundle of HSC Bookkeeping answer sheets was found scattered on a road in Kamothe on Thursday. However, investigations revealed that the papers had accidentally fallen off a teacher’s vehicle while being transported after evaluation. The exam for the subject was conducted on February 28.

The incident came to light when members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) women’s wing discovered the answer sheets behind a bus stop. They immediately collected them and reported the matter to the Kamothe police station. The police promptly informed the education board about the situation.

“It was found that the answer sheets belonged to an examination center in Kharghar. The concerned teacher had already reported the loss before the papers were recovered. The teacher had traveled from Kharghar to Kalamboli to hand over the answer sheets to another evaluator. While carrying the papers on his scooter, a bundle consisting of 25 answer sheets accidentally fell off. Realizing this, he started searching for them and also informed the police,” an officer from Kamothe police station said.

“One of our workers found the answer sheets scattered, and a nearby JCB driver informed us that some children had dismantled the bundle after finding it. We immediately informed the police and handed them over,” said Aditi Sonar from the MNS women’s cell.

Officials from the examination center visited the police station and took custody of the answer sheets after verifying that all were accounted for and intact. “We verified the answer sheets, and they are intact. Nobody needs to panic about this,” said Vanita Suryawanshi, the center head.

The police also stated that after realizing the papers had fallen off, the teacher retraced his route, walking the entire distance from where he started to where he had traveled, in search of the missing answer sheets.
