Bollywood fans were in for a pleasant surprise when former couple Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor reunited at the IIFA 2025 event in Jaipur on Saturday (March 8). Photos and videos of their warm interaction have taken social media by storm, with fans expressing their excitement and nostalgia.
In the viral visuals, Kareena and Shahid can be seen sharing a hug and engaging in a friendly conversation, showcasing their cordial relationship years after their much-publicised breakup.
The duo, who starred in the iconic film Jab We Met (2007), was one of Bollywood’s most adored couples during their time together. Their reunion at the star-studded event has sparked a wave of reactions online, with fans flooding comment sections with love and excitement.
Both Kareena and Shahid looked stunning at the event, with Kareena donning a glamourous archival John Galliano gazette print dress from his eponymous spring/summer 2001 collection. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the print was a collage of real and fictional newspaper headlines. She paired the outfit with knee-high black leather boots.
On the other hand, Shahid looked handsome in an ivory printed suit.
The IIFA 2025, being held in the vibrant city of Jaipur, has already seen a host of Bollywood’s biggest stars, but this unexpected reunion of Shahid and Kareena undoubtedly stole the spotlight.

When Kareena was accused of ‘ignoring’ Shahid
In February 2024, they had an awkward encounter at an event in Mumbai, and it ended up with the Jaane Jaan actress giving the Haider actor a royal ignore in front of the media.
A viral videos, Shahid and Kareena were seen accidentally bumping into each other, making the situation awkward for both of them.
In the video, Shahid was seen posing for the paparazzi along with two other people when Bebo reached there to pose for the paparazzi. As the ex-flames came face to face, the Kabir Singh actor smiled at Bebo, however, she clearly was in no mood to reciprocate. She was instead seen smiling and interacting with the person right next to Shahid and quickly walking past without even sparing a glance at the actor.
The awkward encounter did not miss the eyes of the netizens and they had lauded Shahid for graciously smiling despite being ignored by Kareena.
Kareena and Shahid’s love story and breakup
For the unawares, it was back during the shoot of their film Fida in 2004 that Shahid and Kareena fell in love and began dating. However, in 2007, they called it quits for reasons unknown, and ever since, they made no mention of each other. In 2016, the duo shared the screen once again after almost a decade in Udta Punjab.
Shahid and Kareena have been a part of some of the cult films including Jab We Met and Chup Chup Ke.
Bebo got married to Saif Ali Khan in 2012 and the two have two adorable kids, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan. On the other hand, Shahid tied the knot with Mira Rajput in an intimate ceremony in 2015, and they too have two children — Misha and Zain Kapoor.
