Agra Shocker: Dalit Wedding Procession Attacked By Goons After Dispute Over Honking; Groom Forced Off Horse At Gunpoint (VIDEO)

Agra: In a shocking incident, a Dalit wedding procession in Agra was violently attacked by some miscreants armed with weapons and sticks. The attackers reportedly stopped the baraat, hurled caste-based slurs, and even pointed a gun at the groom, identified as Vishal Jatav.

The groom’s father, who tried to intervene, was also brutally hit by the breech of a gun and sustained a skull injury. Despite the police’s reported presence at the venue, the goons vandalised wedding decorations and forcibly took the groom off the horse, making him walk on foot.

The incident frightened the women and children present at the procession, and the rest of the wedding rituals were completed without any band or music.

Bhim Army Chief Reacts To The Incident

Bhim Army Chief Chandra Shekhar Azaad also took to X (formerly Twitter) to raise concerns about the issue and demanded prompt action from the authorities. Sharing a video of the incident, he wrote, “This incident is another example of growing caste terror in Uttar Pradesh. The most serious thing is that this crime took place in the presence of the police, which clearly shows that either the administration remained a mute spectator or the attackers had its silent support. If this situation continues, will the Bahujans in Uttar Pradesh not even get the right to breathe freely?”

दूल्हे पर बंदूक तान दी गई, उसे बचाने… pic.twitter.com/bbO9568IYe

What Exactly Happened?

The incident unfolded on March 6, when the wedding procession was en route from Thana Malpura in Satya Nagar to Azizpur, Dhanauli. A dispute erupted when a car trailing the procession was unable to find a way through, leading to an argument with a local youth. The youth alerted his family, prompting a mob armed with weapons and sticks to emerge at the venue. The assailants brandished weapons, issuing threats before the violence escalated.

Police Investigation Underway

The entire incident was captured in a video; however, the miscreants threatened the person who was filming it. After locals alerted the police, they escorted the wedding procession to the venue—without the traditional band-baaja.

As per the groom’s family, there were around 50 women in the procession who were left terrified by the attack.

The Malpura Police Station in-charge stated that the altercation stemmed from a dispute over honking, involving a youth carrying a licensed weapon. Complaints were filed from both sides, and an investigation is currently underway. However, the victim’s family claims that despite informing senior officers on Saturday, March 9, no action was taken.
