The Anil Sharma directorial draws inspiration from the Ramayana, specifically the concept of “Vanvas,” which means exile, but with a modern twist: Children are shown as pushing their parents to exile. Vanvaas storyline
Vanvaas tells the story of Deepak, played by Nana Patekar, a father suffering from dementia who is abandoned by his sons at the ghats of Varanasi. Believing that his children are missing, he sets out on a journey to find them.
During his quest, he encounters Veeru, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, a cunning thief who initially tries to take advantage of Deepak’s mental condition. However, Deepak’s purity and kindness eventually transform Veeru, leading him to decide to help Deepak instead. The film explores the challenges they face together and the bond that forms between them throughout their journey.
